Nu,
liberté, désir
Naked,
freedom, desire
The removal of clothing and the appearance of the body often constitute
a moment of indisputable emotion. One has the impression that the
inert barks of the body are being stripped, as well as its social
connotations. Ordinary burdens disappear as one is invaded by a
feeling of lightness, by true freedom. For Pierre Lamalattie the
naked is not an exercise of style, but a kind of contained pleasure,
specific to the artist. It is an invitation to share this state
of suspension, this voyeurism of the subtle shapes of the human
body under their appearance of radical simplicity. One should not
simply be content with an overall impression of the body, but accede
to a real culture of all its components.
